Queen Mary Rose Garden

  • To refurbish incorporating herbaceous planting in Queen Mother Rose Garden and for several beds to trial planting with Gallica roses (Victorian style).
  • Planting schemes to reflect the potential to benefit wildlife, linking to LBAPs.
  • Reinstatement of QM Garden Fountain.

Sensory Gardens for Education

Park Forest Core Paths

  • Refurbishment of Park’s forest core paths

Azalea Path Way (2015/2016)

Funding to be secured by Friends of Aberdeen City Council

  • Open up access to North West corner of the Park for families, picnics.
  • Install a feature engraved path way though the Azalea and Art sculptures.

Signage/Interpretation Boards (2015)

  • Install a number of park signs and interpretation boards.

Pets Corner (2015/2016)

Funding secured by Friends of Hazlehead and Aberdeen City Council

  • Refurbish Aviary and develop capability for animal diversity.
  • Remodel the entrance and re-energise facilities.
  • There are opportunities to link the ‘Zoo’ with some nature conservation activities, i.e. breeding rarer local species especially those that could be impacted by Climate change.
  • Create an educational interpretation centre.
  • Provide a ‘Petting’ corner for younger community members.
